I think about lament quite a lot, for better or worse it's in my nature to commune with people in their darkest valleys, I've had that privilege. I'm used to having these profound conversations with people, helping them, and somehow that felt illusive in the face of cancer. You dirty dog you. 
I think in the end we all wonder if we could have done different or more?
